I Can Breathe!® Inc. masks are not NIOSH approved for occupational wear. The Cold Weather Mask has been evaluated by a medical doctor who is a competitive skier and we are told used by Merck employees who work in 70 below zero refrigerators.  Remarks below are from Adrien Bledstein, mask designer who needs and wears each mask, and Customers Say... are responses from real people.  Repeat customers "love" the masks and report being able to go out and about with comfort when irritants are in the air.

I Can Breathe!® ACF Pollution Mask: An Environmental Engineer with broad international experience in air pollution measurement and control, Mark Hodges is Principal Consultant for Environmental Forward Observer, LLC. After evaluating the I Can Breathe!® ACF Pollution Mask compared to other masks while on assignment in Kabul and Kathmandu he observes: "The data I have is qualitative from the perspectives of fit, convenience, comfort, durability, and perceptibly cleaner air breathed while using the mask. It's numerous positive features notwithstanding, good fit and seal are essential, and the I Can Breathe!® ACF Pollution Mask fits and seals well. Further, it is comfortable, which is very important as people tend to take a mask off after a while if it is uncomfortable or restricts breathing." Mr. Hodges has studied Beijing air quality as well.

Each mask was developed for my personal use after I was struck with a chronic lung disorder in 1994 while living in an urban center.  I carefully followed medical prescriptions but found that avoidance of substances which caused sneezing, coughing, nasal congestion, or chest tightening made a big difference in relieving symptoms. Since April 2002 I have not needed medications. When challenged, I wear a mask. Each mask allows me to breathe more freely, maintain energy and focus in ordinary circumstances: driving a car, adding gas to the tank, walking into a room or elevator with people wearing perfume, entering a hardware store with paints and chemicals, visiting a friend with a dog or cat, going to a library, sitting at a computer, walking outside when mold spores are high or wind chill drops below freezing, functioning with energy on a day when Particulate Matter registers above 50 on the Pollutants Standard Index, traveling by airplane, passing by smokers, to mention a few.

My goal was to be free of symptoms, have energy to teach and write, and to enjoy my family. I wanted comfortable, effective, good looking masks which don't interfere with eye glasses, hairdo, or earrings, are reusable, easy to carry and quick to put on.
